Darvin Atchley, 85, died in Hamilton Feb. 21, 2005. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Feb. 23 in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Felton officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. He was born Jan. 8, 1920, the son of Ernest A. Atchley and Allie Flippen Atchley in the West Point community of Hamilton County.
He grew up working on the family farm. He was married to Mary Loyce Williams on May 24, 1940 at Hamilton by Brother Lynn Dalton.
On January 27, 1945 he was inducted into the Navy. He was stationed at Naval Training Center, San Diego, Calif., aboard the USS LST 213 and at Camp Wallace, Texas. He was awarded the American Area Campaign, Asiatic Pacific Area and the World War II Victory Medals. He was discharged from the service in April of 1946.
After his discharge, he worked as a carpenter building homes and many buildings in Hamilton. He and one other man wheel barrowed all the concrete for the floor of Lawson Implement on Henry Street in one day.
He was also one of the builders of the Presbyterian Church. For a number of years he worked in the construction of oil refineries. He was an avid gardener, growing prize tomatoes and other vegetables.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Loyce Atchley of Hamilton; a daughter, Linda Pearce of Hamilton; two grandchildren, Lynn Pearce and wife Pam of Hamilton and Danan Pearce of Frisco; three great-grandchildren, James Lynn Pearce, Sarah Dawn Pearce and Mellisa Ann Pearce; four sisters, Ola Mae Warren and Athleen Prazak, both of Hamilton, Garvine Chumney of Fort Worth and Lavada Spriwell of Dawson.
Pallbearers were Jimmie Schrank, Robert Schrank, James Lively, Steve Warren, Bill J. Warren and Kelly Fowler.
Honorary Pallbearers were Rex Robinson, Lewis Ray and J.D. Atchley.

Craik Kooken Bollier, 82, of
Gatesville, died in the Coryell Memorial Hospital on Saturday, Jan. 10,
(1987) following a short illness. Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan.
11, in the Riley Funeral home Chapel with Rev. M. V. Hemphill and Rev.
Steven Hoard officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Bollier was born in the Evergreen Community of
Hamilton County on Sept. 9, 1904, the son of the late Henry and Mary
Brandon Bollier. He was a retired farmer and had lived in Gatesville
for the past 15 years. He married Ruth White on Nov., 13, 1932, in
Hamilton. He was a member of the Westview Baptist Church in Gatesville.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Bollier, two
daughters, Juanita Earlene Hoard and Dorothy Ruth Weaver; a
sister, Annie Herrin; a brother, Wylie Bollier; five
grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Pallbearers were Bill Hord, Gene Bollier, David
Mulrooney, A. C. Painter, DeWayne Bollier, W. P. Paul, Jr., Curtis Weaver,
and Darrell Bollier.
BOLLIER, MARTHA ELON (WHITE)

Ruth Elon Bollier, 87 of Copperas Cove died Aug. 14, 2000 in a Copperas Cove Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held Aug. 17 at 2 p.m. at Crawford-Bowers Chapel in Copperas Cove with Rev. Mark Kemp and Rev. Steve Hord officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Hamilton.
She was born June 4, 1913 in the Bear Creek community of Hamilton County, the daughter of John Stephen White and Martha Elon White. She was married to Craik Kooken Bollier on Nov. 13, 1932. He preceded her in death in 1987.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Copperas Cove. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Willie, Elbert and Sidney White and a son-in-law, Robert Hord.
Survivors include her daughters, Juanita and husband John Johnson of Copperas Cove and Dorothy and husband Sammy Weaver of Plano; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Jane Moore Eidson died in her home after a
lengthy illness. A private graveside service was held Dec. 10 in the
Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial services were Dec. 13 at Williams
Funeral Chapel.
Survivors include her husband, James Ashley
Eidson of Garland; sons, Charles Ashley Eidson and wife Anna
Christina Rutland of Santa Fe, NM and James Arthur Austin; brother
Jerald Moore of Richland Hills, grandchildren Morgan Ashley Eidson,
James August Eidson and Elizabeth Lenore Eidson and many nieces and
nephews.

Thomas W. Evans Jr., 62, of Austin died
Thursday, Oct. 22.
Services were Monday, Oct. 26, in the Colonial
Chapel of Cook Walden Funeral Home, Lamar location in Austin. Burial
was in Evergreen Cemetery in Jonesboro.
Mr. Evans was born Nov. 6, 1935, in Hamilton,
the son of Thomas W. and Jewell Charlie Evans. He was a sergeant in
the US Air Force 1954 to 1957 and served with the Fort Worth Police
Department 1960-67, as senior sergeant and in the Organized Crime
Unit with the Austin Police Department 1967-80 and as chief of
police for the Lakeway Police Department 1980-92.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas
W. Evans Sr. and Jewell Charlie Evans-Dodgion; a brother, James L.
Evans; and a son, Tommy Wayne Evans.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Evans of
Austin; a brother, John H. Evans of Midland; children, Michele Evans
and Thomas W. Evans III and wife Sandra and their son Trey, all of
Pflugerville; and stepchildren, Melinda Waller, Melissa Hodgson and
Mitzi Myers.

MASSINGILL, JOHN PAUL

John Paul Massingill, 20, of Jonesboro, died March 14 in Hamilton County. Funeral services were held March 18 at First Baptist Church of Gatesville with Reverends Miles Miears, Don McCollum and Darrell Wallace officiating. Burial with full military honors followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Hamilton County.
He was born Aug. 10, 1984 in Clifton. He grew up in Jonesboro and graduated from Jonesboro High School in 2003.
While in high school Mr. Massingill enjoyed and participated in sports and was active in Future Farmers of America where he served as president. He served in the Marine Corps Reserve since the summer of 2003. He worked for Lilljedahl Construction and loved hard work and hauling hay. He was active in the Gatesville Boxing Club and was currently enrolled at Central Texas College. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro.
Survivors include his mother, Kim Patterson and husband Buster of Gatesville; father, Kenny Massingill of Jonesboro; grandparents, Paul and Margaret Massingill of Jonesboro, John (Bill) and Sue Burdett of Gatesville, Robert (Pat) and JoAnn Patterson of Gatesville; brothers, Matt Massingill of Gatesville and Robert and Matthew Patterson of Gatesville and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers were Matt Massingill, Brian Lusk, Cody McFarlin, Kane Necessary, Coty Malden, Kris Puryear, Scotty Lilljedahl, Dane Barron, Zeb Johnson and John Johnson.

Marcus Earl Paul was born and passed away Nov. 17, 2004 at Kings Daughters Hospital in Temple. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Nov. 19 in the Evergreen Cemetery in the Evergreen Community of Hamilton County. His life was short and we will miss him.

Louisa Laura (Lula) Brandon Payne 96 of Hamilton died Oct. 2, 2003 at the Hamilton Health Care Center. Funeral services were held Oct. 4 at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Weaver and Rev. Ricky Loy officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery.
She was born August 4, 1907 in Okesia, Okla., the daughter of Robert Miller Brandon and Virginia Kathrine (Kate) Jackson Brandon. She was married to Charlie
Arthur Payne On May 11, 1929, in Hamilton. He preceded her in death on Nov. 18, 1975. She was a de-voted wife and helpmate to her
husband, a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Mrs. Payne was active in the R.S.V.P delivering meals on wheels,
Swinging 60 band and volunteering at the Senior Center.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie A. Payne; son, Charles Stifflemire; daughter,
Mamie Smythe; two daughters-in-law, Juanita Payne and Louise
Stifflemire; four sisters and three brothers, Lydia Wynn, Dora Thrilkill, Myrtle Strange, Viola McLemore, Fred Brandon, Frank Brandon and Ray Brandon. Survivors include seven children and their spouses, Billie Jo and Gene Suggs of Whitehouse, Gene and Joy Payne of Pecan Wells,

James Obie Pearce, 60, died Friday, Jan. 15, at
Hamilton Health Care Center.
Services were Monday, Jan. 18, in the Riley
Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Kirk Parsons officiating. Burial
was in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Pearce was born Jan. 5, 1939, in Hamilton,
the son of Willard O. and Lucy Crain Pearce. He was married to Linda
Atchley on Jan. 7, 1964, at the Lund Valley Church in Hamilton
County. He was a past member of the US Army Reserves, loved the
outdoors and enjoyed his work as a farmer and rancher. He and his
wife were also prior owners of the Dinner Bell Restaurant. He was a
Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a
brother, Joe Lynn Pearce.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Pearce of
Hamilton; two sons, Lynn Pearce and wife Pam of Hamilton and Danan
L. Pearce of Arlington; a brother, Kenneth Lowrance of Clifton; and
three grandchildren, James, Mellisa and Sarah Pearce.

Funeral services for Ella Clydene White will be 2 p.m. Aug. 18, 2004 in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Don McCollum and Bro. Rudy Rios officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery at Evergreen.
Mrs. White was born December 4, 1914 in Aleman, the daughter of D.
P. Sargent and Stella Beacham Sargent. She attended Aleman and Ireland schools and graduated from Ireland High School in 1932. In that same year she married Sidney Earl White. They lived in the Evergreen community. She was a homemaker and active member of the Evergreen Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. She has been a resident of Forrest Ridge Care Center for the last five years. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents and four brothers, Elvy, Lewis, Earl and Rhett Sargent.
Survivors include a son, Sidney C. White and wife Linda of Mesquite; a daughter, Martha Ann Paul and husband
W. P. (Dubby) of Evergreen; four grandchildren, Cheri Rios and husband Rudy of Texas City; Shawn Paul and wife Anita of Gatesville; Kimberly Henry and husband Billy; Sherry McNabb and husband Brian all of Mesquite; nine great-grandchildren and a brother,

Maggie Estelle White of Hamilton and most recently of
Bedford, died on May 28, at a Bedford hospital. Funeral services were held
at 2 p.m. May 31 at Riley Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Evergreen
Cemetery with Rev. Jim Townsend officiating.
She was born 12/20/1909, the daughter of Charlie
and Mollie Carson Cozby. On February 1, 1934, she was married to Elbert Lincoln White who
preceded her in death on April 5, 1974.
She was also preceded in death by her children, Jonnie
Glen White and Charlene Schmidt. Mrs. White was a member of the Calvary
Baptist Church in Hamilton, Texas.
She is survived by her brother, Alton "Pete"
Cozby and his family of Hamilton; grandson, Steve White and wife Rhonda
and their children Danny and Melissa of Bedford; Grandson, Geoffrey White
and wife Lisa and their daughter Amber of Euless; granddaughter, Jennifer
Cumbie and husband Lee and their children Jonathon and Mary Kathyn of
Euless and granddaughter, Heather Jones and her daughter Rebekah of
Euless; a number of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
