Later, W. T. Graves was received.
Brother Ewel Strickland was licensed to preach. By order of the church,
he was ordained as a minister of the gospel.
Electric lights were installed during this pastorate.
Brother Floyd graduated from Baylor University in 1941.
A. LOPER -- PASTOR 1940 - 1943
Brother Arthur Loper was born in Bell County January 9, 1883. He grew
up on a farm with the privilege of attending three or four months in the
winter. When he grew up, he went to Crawford and was a barber.
He was converted in 1909 and united with the Baptist Church in
Crawford. Soon after his conversion he felt the call to preach the gospel.
It was hard for him to prepare himself for the pulpit. He was already a
man of a family. These had to be cared for. His wife was the former Miss
Sena Hinson. He entered Baylor University and began his preparation to fit
himself to carry the Gospel to the people.
Soon after this he was called as pastor to Osage Church, later to
Crawford. He served
