1920 and there he was pastor of several churches. Brother Walton was called to his heavenly home January 7, 1955. His widow and three daughters survive him.

 

Reverend A. J. Armstrong

Pastor 1912 -- 1916

Brother A. J. Armstrong was born in Lee County, Mississippi in 1868.

He married Miss Nancy Moore of Mississippi in 1889. They had a family of eleven children. She passed away in 1912.

Brother Armstrong has been the pastor of seventeen churches in the Leon River Baptist Association. Brother Armstrong preached forty-five years before he retired. He was pastor at Pecan Grove for fifteen years.

He was called to the Coryell in 1912. In August of that year he held a revival. He did he preaching and Brother Will Beeman lead the singing.

In August of 1913 the church held a revival and Reverend Sumner M. Edwards doing the preaching.

In August of 1915 a revival was conducted by Brother J. C. Chandler. A large number of the
