UNCLE PERRY WHITE NOT SO GOOD
Uncle Perry White was never a skillful roper, or particularly dexterous
in handling cattle, but he was popular and respected here and in the West
for scrupulous in bringing back other people’s cattle. He worked first
for the Rice Ranch, which was called the Door Key and was in Fisher County
right at the edge of Roby on the east, that is to say, the dugout
headquarters was so located. Then he worked for the old buffalo hunter J.
Wright Moore, and then he went back to the Door Key.
