IN ELECTRIC POWER BUSINESS
At one time Mr. Williams said he put in and ran the city electric plant
and everything. The first machinery wore out and was no good and had to be
replaced. No finally leased it and then sold it. Mr. Williams and Bob
Emmett working down there, power and city water.
(This must have been after the original electric and ice plant was
burned one Thanksgiving night, put in and operated as I recall by Mr.
McSpadden. Later a deep city water well was put in there. I remember the
first electric lights very well. Originally, of course, we had kerosene
lamps.)
