Judge Clint Crosby, Sr., 93, of Lanham died Aug. 25, 1990, at Hamilton General Hospital following an extended illness. Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 27, at Riley Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Matthew McKellar officiating. Burial was in Bulman Cemetery.
Mr. Crosby was born Feb. 12, 1897, in Dallas County to the late Marcellus Cicero and Mary Minerva Simmons Crosby. He was a farmer and rancher, and a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. On Sept. 21, 1919, he married Mary Elizabeth White.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jack Crosby, who was killed in action in World War II, four sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Elizabeth Crosby of Lanham; two children, Mary Lou Crosby of Hamilton and Judge Clint Crosby, Jr. of Lanham; and two sisters, Faye Oglesby of Hamilton and Hallye Jones of Lanham.
Pallbearers were Robert Jones, Elverne Jones, Jerry Paul Jones, Robert Meissner, Clarence Meissner, Gill Harkins, Verlin Anglin and H. C. Anglin.
Honorary pallbearers were Bob Wylie, Freeman Vise and John Anglin.

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" Crosby, 92, of
Lanham died Nov. 10, 1990 in Hamilton General Hospital following an
illness of about two months. Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 12,
at Riley Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Matthew McKeller, the Rv. Mark
Truman, and the Rev. Kip Ingram officiating. Burial was in Bulman
Cemetery.
Mrs. Crosby was born Sept. 12, 1898, in Hamilton County
to the late Jack G. and Mary Malone White. She was a homemaker, and a
member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. On Sept. 21, 1919, she
married Judge Clint Crosby. He preceded her in death in August 1990. She
was also preceded in death by a son, Jack Crosby, who died during WWII.
Survivors include two children, Mary Lou Crosby of
Hamilton and Judge Clint Crosby, Jr. of Lanham; a sister, Marilla Brown of
Hamilton; and a brother, Darnell White of Hamilton.
Pallbearers were Robert Jones, Robert Meissner, Clarence
Meissner, Gil Harkins, Elverne Jones, and Jerry Paul Jones. Honorary
pallbearers were Dr. Burres Garrison, Robert Wylie, Freeman Vise, Robert
White, and James Ray White.

FUNERAL HELD HERE FRIDAY FOR DENNIS PAYNE
Funeral services were held Friday at 2pm at the Riley Funeral Chapel
for Denis Payne, 68, who died Thursday morning at 8:00 o'clock in the
Hamilton Clinic and Hospital. Rev. Max Holleyman was the officiating
minister. He was assisted by Rev. J.D. Coleman. Interment was made in the
Bulman Cemetery.
Mr. Payne was born in the Pleasant
Valley Community 14 miles east of Hamilton on April 8, 1881. He was
married to Miss Bertie Barnard on Dec 15, 1906.
He was serving as a deacon of the Pleasant
Valley Baptist Church at the time of his death and had served as
superintendent of the Sunday School as well as having been teacher of the
Adult Bible Class for a number of years.
Survivors, besides his wife, are his
children, W. D. Payne, Port Sulphur, LA; Ross Payne, Clute TX; Mrs. Oscar
Wagner, Hamilton; George D. Payne, Freeport and Miss Bertie May Payne,
Bellville; three sisters, Mrs. Mary McBroom and Mrs. Bertie Fulcher,
Hamilton, and Mrs. Liza Culp, Gatesville; four brothers, Charlie Payne,
Elk City, OK; Tom Payne, Muleshoe; Jess Payne, Tolar; and Bud Payne,
Oglesby and seven grandchildren.
Among the out of town relatives attending the funeral services besides
those already mentioned were: Will Caroughhers, Lometa; Mrs. Lee and son,
Coryell City; Mr. and Mrs.. Earl Culp, Pearl; Mr. and Mrs. Debs George and
daughters, Tolar; and Walter Bernard, Bellville.

This is the son of William
Dennis "Bill" Payne and Olive Dunlap Payne. For the father
being such a renegade, the son turned out well. Since this obit mentions
Dennis was buried at the Bulman cemetery, may he be added to that list.

WHITE, ROBERT JR.

Robert White Jr., 54 of Hamilton died June 30 at his
home. Graveside services were held July 3 at Bulman Cemetery with Rev.
Marvin Andrews officiating.
Mr. White was born Dec. 8, 1945, the son of Robert White
Sr. and Nancy Lorenzo Casey White. He attended school in Fairy and
Hamilton. He was a truck driver most of his life and a member of the
Baptist Church.
Survivors include his two daughters and their husbands,
Lea Ann and Mike Love of Apache, Okla and Nancy and Kevin Durall of
Lawton, Okla. He is also survived by three step-grandchildren, April
Shelby and Amber Love, a sister, Bety Sharp of Gardendale and a brother,
J.C. White of Hamilton.
