Mrs. Fannie Ballard, who
is a resident of Leisure Lodge, was honored on her 94th birthday Sunday,
August 27, with a dinner at the home of a son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs.
Dud Hopkins of Hamilton. A grandson's wife from Azel made the beautiful
cake, a work of art.
All of her children, a number of
grandchildren, and four great grandchildren were there. It was a
wonderful day with picture taking of the five generations and visiting.
The honoree, fortunate to be so active and alert, enjoyed it all
immensely. She received many cards and gifts, and especially appreciated
the handmade gifts from her fellow residents of Leisure Lodge.
Those attending were her children, Roy
Hopkins, and his two grandsons, Tommie and Tim Kuenzi of San Marcos,
Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Hopkins of Fort Worth; Mr. and Mrs. Charlie
Johnson of Hamilton.
Others attending were Mr. and Mrs. Carl
Hopkins, Clint, Ginger and Jamie, of Azel; Susie, Marsey and Misty Flatt
of Fort Worth; Janet, Cynthia and Luke Cowley, and Gracie Lee Hopkins of
Fort Worth; Barry, Toni and Jeffrey, Waco; Mary Lou Crosby, Irving; and
Clint Crosby Jr. and Rilla Brown of Hamilton.

Lee Crosby was born 27 August, 1884, in Dallas County, TX, and died
at the age of 99 years and 9 months on June 19, 1984. She was buried
in the Elkins Cemetery in Mills County, TX. Fannie Lee was a
daughter of Marcellus Cicero Crosby and Mary Minerva "Mollie"
(Simons) Crosby. Her first husband was A. J. Hopkins.
