OLIN SCHOOL, 1936

Olin Is Good Two Teacher School

Hamilton County School Annual

Olin, on Highway No. 66 in the north part of Hamilton county, is one of the oldest schools in the county. It is in one of the best farming sections of the county and the citizenship is portrayed in an expression of one of our judges, who asked a citizen of this community where he was from and when he answered "Olin," the judge said, "That is one of the cleanest communities in Hamilton County."

The Olin school doesn't claim to be the hub of the universe but it does claim to be one of the spokes in the wheel of the Hamilton County system.

Owing to the late depression and other unknown causes the scholastics have dwindled below the minimum requirements for a two teacher state aid school, but in spite of that Olin is still holding on to a two-teacher school, and we believe with the old spirit of "all pull together," we are going to do bigger things.

The school is taught by H. G. Murray, principal, who has been in the school three years, and Miss Ruth Short, primary teacher, who is doing an excellent job teaching first year.

Mr. Murray has had nine years teaching experience, eight of which have been in Hamilton County. He has three years college work off, having graduated from John Tarleton College in 1925 and has since done one year's work in Texas A. and M. College.

Miss Ruth Short is teaching her first year. She is a student of John Tarleton College.
