Another
part of the art show was some bronze sculpturing done by Bill Chappell.
Bill is a western artist, and you could almost hear the war whoop of the
Indians who were off the scene, but were attacking the cowboys in one of
his pieces of work, He is also an expert in painting western scenes, as
everyone will testify who has seen his work.
Bill’s
main studio is at South Fork,
Colorado
(this is not J. R. Ewing’s South Fork he has in his TV series,
Dallas
), but we like to claim Bill and his wife Fay as being a part of us here
in
Hamilton
County
. They lived in the Lanham community before he entered the navy during
World War II, and they have owned property in Hamilton County nearly all
the time, so have often been here for short stays. Their present place
is east of
Hamilton
on Highway 22.
