Picture of Guy Newton Smith, born Oct. 1, 1897 and died Nov. 8, 1951. He was born in Washington Co. Ga., the son of Joseph Sampson Smith and Etta Massouri Wood. Guy married Grace Fannie Williams on April 3, 1920. Guy's father was the Washington County Surveyor for many years, on Dec. 4, 1940 Guy himself ran for this office and was elected. He also was elected on Feb. 15, 1944 and Dec. 22, 1948. The job explains the clothes he's wearing.
