SOUTHEAST:

Morgan County   The current Morgan County location is included as a part of
                                the territory obtained from the Creek Indians by a treaty at Fort
                                Wilkinson, on the 16th day of June, 1802. This area was made
                                into three counties, Wayne, Wilkinson and Baldwin. Morgan
                                County was subsequently divided from Baldwin County, & established
                                0n 10 DEC 1807

Newton County     was created by the Georgia General Assembly on
                               24 DEC 1821.   It was formed from parts of Henry,

Oconee County     was formed from Clarke County on 25 FEB 1875.  The county seat
