William W. McCollum
Enoch E. McCollum (b. 1832; d. 1862) enlisted as a captain in the 42nd Georgia Infantry Regiment and died shortly afterward in Loudon, Tennessee of measles. His record says he enlisted from Walton County. In 1850 he and his parents (William and Esther Edwards McCollum) lived in Cherokee County. Can anyone tell me whether or not Enoch had a family in Walton County, perhaps by checking the 1860 census?

I am trying to document the parents of Polly and Elizabeth Meadows, who married Robert and David Willoughby in Clark County, now Oconee Georgia. Robert and David Willoughby married a Polly and Elizabeth Meadows in Clark Co Georgia. Could it be that Polly and Elizabeth went to Clark County Georgia and some of the other siblings went to Chambers County and other counties in Alabama? Willoughby and Meadows families also were in Wilkinson, Twiggs, Green, Warren, Coweta, Oconee, Oglethorpe, Taliaferro, Walton, Columbia, Wilkes and other Counties in Georgia.

My 3rd great grandfather, Thomas Hardaway Mitchell, married Ruth(ie) Tillery, (we think in Oglethorpe County) and they lived in Walton County. They are buried 2 1/2 miles north of Social Circle in the old Mitchell grave yard.I want to find out more about Joshua Tillery, (Ruth(ie)'s father), who came to Walton County at the same time as the Mitchells. Did Joshua die there? When and where? Did he leave a will? What land did he own?

Moon (born in Columbia County, Georgia in 1796).  Joseph moved to Walton County and raised a large family with numerous sons who served in the Civil War.  Joseph and his first wife, Edith Hudson (Hutson?) had a son named William Ezra Moon (born in Walton County in 1826).  Would appreciate any documentation or assistance in finding info of father/son relationship as might be found in wills, deeds, local publications, etc.
