These notes are transcriptions of the minutes, etc., from Kings Chapel Church
as typed by my brother David, from the original clerk minutes of C[harles]
Maze, our great-great-grandfather. The notes lead off with a copy of the
deed as recorded in 1903, then move into the minutes from the period
1887-1893. If they can be of use to anyone by being posted on the Upson
County Genweb site, feel free to do so.

In memoriam of R. L. Dukes
Whereas it had pleased out heavenly Father to receive to himseld out
beloved friend and brother, R. L. Dukes, whose death on May 12, 1937
had removed from us one honest and upright character and brother. His
helping hand and loving spirit was never lacking in any works of mercy
and in his passing we have lost a most faithful and loyal brother and
co-worker whom could always be depended upon. Brother Dukes moved into
our community from McDonough in the year of 1911 and was received into
the Church by letter and has been a regular attendent since. By his
death, King's Chapel Baptist Church has lost one faithful, loyal and
devoted member and clerk. We extend out deepest sympathy to the
bereaved family and pray that God will bless and comfort them in their
great sorrow.
This was an act of conference September 26, 1937.

In memory of Eulie Ross Dawson
Death is ever an unwelcome visitor in our homes. He is a guest who
comes uninvited and he is no respector of persons. He enters the
sacred precincts of our homes and claims our brightest and best. No
one is excepted from the touch of his icy tentacles. The babe in its
mother's arms, the child at its play, the youth or maiden first
entering man or woman hood, the young man or woman standing on the
threshhold of life, the middle-aged and the decrepit tottering down the
western slope of life, all are potential victims of his relentless
scythe.
Just a few short weeks ago the dreaded visitor came into the home of
our dear friends Brother and Sister C. W. Dawson and claimed a precious
inmate of that home in the person of the dear son, Ealie Ross Dawson.
Ealie was only twenty-two years old, just on the threshhold of young
manhood. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. But the
fintst thing that can be said about him and that which gives his family
and friends the greatest comfort in their sorrow is that he was a
christian boy. He united with King's Chapel Baptist Church at about
the age of eighteen and was a gfaithful member til the Lord called him
home to (Him) and Sister Dawson, the loving parents of young brother
and the other members of his family.
We the members of King's Chapel Church extend out heartfelt sympathy in
the great sorrow that has overtaken them and consolation in such hours
of grief in the untimely death of this yound man. His family has lost
a dutiful son and a kind and loving brother; his church, a loyal and
useful member; and the communtiy, a promising youg citizen.

young brother in a brighter and better world.
