Genealogical and Historical Room has one of the largest collections in the southeast. Contains 21,000 books, 15,000 microfilms, 259 maps and 60 subscriptions. The library serves over 13,000 researchers annually.
Hours: Monday 9-9 / Tuesday - Saturday 9-6 / closed Sunday
Directions from Atlanta: Take I-75 South to Exit 52 (Hardeman-Forsyth Ave) and proceed to the second traffic light (Forsyth Ave). Turn left onto Forsyth Ave and go through two traffic lights (stay in left lane). At third traffic light (College St) turn left. Newspaper-Macon Telegraph indexed on computer from 1899. However, the newspaper is also indexed in the genealogy room in books for dates prior to that.

Georgia Baptist History Depository contains records of individual churches, papers and publications. The Christian Index-published indices to marriages (1828-1855) and obituaries (1822-1879, 1880-1890) and some unpublished marriages, ordinations, retirements, and obituaries. Microfilm.
