Rachel Smith, 91 of Tampa, Fl., went Home to be with Her Lord Monday, October 13, 2008. She was born in LaGrange, Georgia, May 11, 1917 to Tamp William Powers and Leola Gladney. She moved to Tampa from LaGrange, Georgia in 1954. She was a Weaver in the textile industry and was a Member of Temple Crest Baptist Church of Tampa where She was a Volunteer in the Children's Nursery taking care of the Children and was a Member for more than 30 years. Rachel was also a Member of the Order of Eastern Star of Tampa. She is survived by a Son, James Smith of Tampa; three Great-GrandChildren; two Great-Great-GrandChildren, Anabelle Jones and Felicity Johnson. Funeral service 10 a.m. Friday, October 16, 2008 at Hillsboro Memorial Home. Visitation 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2008 at the funeral home. Donations may be made to LifePath Hospice in Her loving memory.
