Directions:

From the square drive west/southwest on Vernon Rd/West Point Rd 9.4 mi. The church is on the right (northwest) side of West Point Rd (US 29). The church is back a 300 ft service road. The cemetery is to the northeast of the church 100 ft.

Notes:

Note 1: When the U. S. Corps of Engineers were building the West Point Lake, a number of graves that were to be inundated by the water were moved to Long Cane Baptist Church Cemetery. The book "Family, Church, and Community Cemeteries of Troup County, Georgia" reported that this grave was moved at that time. The Corps of Engineer's (COE) designation is indicated in parentheses. Total reported re-internments: Potts Cemetery (COE 201-C). 46 graves Sheppard Cemetery(COE 601). 63 graves Wilkinson Cemetery (COE 202). 12 graves Many graves were marked only with field stones, but lettered markers were moved with the remains.
