Troup County Brickwall - Exa Hubbard I am looking for Exa Hubbard. She is my husband's paternal great-grandmother. Her birth was April 1875 in Troup County, Georgia and she married George Brewer Walker 30 Nov 1898 in Troup County, Georgia.
As of 1900 Census they were living in Camp Hill Village, Tallapoosa County, Alabama and had one son (Paul Hubbard Walker b. 9 Dec 1899 in Troup County, GA)
1910 Census had them living Roanoke, Randolph County, AL. Children listed on the census are: Paul H. and Mary G. (Mary George Walker b. 4 Sep 1908 in Roanoke, Randolph County, AL)
As of 1920 Census they were still living in Roanoke, Randolph County, AL. Children listed on the census are: Paul H., Mary G., and Benjamin T. (Benjamin Travis Walker b. 8 Aug 1914 in Dothan, AL)
1930 Census shows Exa (Hubbard) Walker and son, Ben T., living with Exa's daughter and son-in-law (Guy & Mary Creasy) in Atlanta, Fulton, County, GA. Exa has no occupation listed and her marital status is marked "D" for divorced. Exa's son, Ben T., was single and working as a "soda man" in a drug store according to this census. This census form was dated April 2, 1930. Also, when this census record was transcribed for Ancestry.com, the transcriber misread the family name as Caeany(?)
Also of note; George Brewer Walker was listed as living with his son, Paul Hubbard Walker, on 1930 Census Form for April 2, 1930 in Opelika, Lee County, AL. As of April 2, 1930 George B. Walker was listing his marital status as "M" for married, but there is no mention of Exa on the census form.
I gather from these two 1930 census records that as of April 1930, George and Exa were no longer living together.
My mother-in-law once told us that George and Exa were involved in an auto accident that led up to the death of one of them.
