CO G 6TH INFANTRY   CASUALTY LIST YORKTOWN

Of the 133 men in the data base I have for Co. G. 6th
Infantry this is the casualty list from the Yorktown
area.  This is probably pretty accurate but the way
some of the men were discharded or died may be
different but this will give you an idea of how bad the
sickness was in Yorktown.

Of the 133 men:
9 died
16 were discharged

That is nearly 20% of the Company.  Others may have
been sick but were able to get through it but it was
not good health wise in Yorktown.

Died
James Brewer
William R. Caldwell (Beth's uncle and my cousin)
William A. Cameron
Henry Davis
Jesse Knight
Joseph McCants
Seaborn Mulkey (not sure how he died)
George W. Wilson
William Yarborough

Discharged
William Hamilton Caldwell (eventually transferred to Nelson's  Cavalry)
King Hiram Carter
William Collins
James Draughan
Thomas Fagan
William Grant
William May
Jeremiah McCants
Bishop Moore
Stephen R. Moore
Jerome Newsome
Cullen A.J. Pope
William Saxon
Peyton W. Wade (I wonder if this is from the Wade's family that William delivered?)
Charles P. Waters
Calvin Wilson

This is quite a few men that were lost without firing a
shot.
