Nathaniel Bradford was Henry's double first Cousin, who moved to the River
from Hancock County, to be "overseer" to Henry's Plantation. Henry sold him
some land several times. From 1838 to 1842 he served as State Representative and died in office. He had been married to Sarah Temple, but apparently was a widow when he came to this area.
William A. Carr married Benjamin Hawkin's daughter, Virginia. He was the son of Henry Carr who married Mary Downs (the sister of Lavinia Downs who married Benjamin Hawkins) He was a Captain in the Creek Indian War of 1836 and was later controversial as he was accused of ordering his men to retreat without sufficient cause. The account is on-line on the Indian Wars (Taylor County)page.
They moved to Yalobusha Co, MS.
Peter Corbin bought the bulk of the land when
Henry moved to Ft. Mitchell, Ala. in 1836 because of ill health. The
Agency had been moved from Flint River to Russell County, Ala. , and John,
his brother , and other members of the family resided there.

The Acts of December 22, 1827, Acts 1827, page 131, authorized the sale of the lots in the Old Agency. The Survey was made 1828.
NOTE: Many of these names played significant historical roles. See their stories below.
MAP of Old Agency
Henry Crowell was an ancestor of Millie Stewart. He was the first to acquire land on the west side of the Flint River. His brother, John Crowell was Government agent to the Indian Nation. This brother may have helped him with the purchase arrangement, but Henry Crowell did purchase the land contrary to some accounts which indicate that the land "was taken".
His children were:
Henry who married 1) Emeline Brooks 2)Mary McCrary
Patsy (unmarried) buried 1849 at Fickling's Mill
John Joseph married Mary B. Horton
