State of Georgia This Indenture made this twentieth day of December in the year
of our Lord eighteen hundred & Eleven, between John Lee of the County & State
aforesaid of the one part & Stephen Pearce of the County & State aforesaid of
the other part WITNESSETH That he the said John Lee for & in consideration of
the Sum of one Hundred Dollars to him in hand well & truly paid at or before the
sealing & delivery of these presents the receipt whereof he the said John Lee
doth hereby acknowledge, and thereof & every part thereof, doth acquit, release
& Discharge the said Stephen Pearce, his heirs, executors & assigns & every of
them forever by these presents he, the said John Lee Hath granted, bargained &
sold & by these presents doth grant, bargain & sell unto the said Stephen
Pearce, his heirs & assigns, all tract or parcel of land originally containing
one hundred & fifty acres granted to Joshua Pearce Jano*** situate, lying &
being in the County of Effingham now Scriven in the State aforesaid, bounded
south by Joshua Pearce Senr. & by vacant Land & on all other sides by land
vacant, reference to the original grant will now fully appear, but now
containing one hundred and thirty nine & three quarters acres, ten & one quarter
and being sold to the Heirs of Richard Wayne Esq.-as marked & designated in the
original Platt, together with all & singular the buildings & improvements,
rents, issues, profit, privileges & all the right, title, interest, inheritance,
benefit, claim & demand whatsoever to the said land or any part thereof, to the
only proper use of the said Stephen Pearce his heirs & assigns forever.~~ And he
the said John Lee for himself, his heirs & executors, assigns the said one
hundred & thirty nine & three quarter acres land unto the said Stephen Pearce,
his heirs & assigns, against him the said John Lee his heirs & assigns & against
all and every other person or persons, will forever warrant & defend the same

Scriven County This Indenture Made this first day of
June in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred & twenty, between Joseph Humphreys
& Rachel his wife of the one part & John Lee all of State & County aforesd. Of
the other part, Witnesseth that the said Joseph Humphrey & Rachel his wife for &
in consideration of the sum of Eight hundred dolls. To them in hand paid by the
aforesd. John Lee the rect. Whereof is hereby acknowledged Hath granted,
bargained & Sold, aliened, released & confirmed & by these presents doth grant,
bargain & sell, alien, release & confirm unto the sd. John Lee his heirs &
assigns all those two tract of land situate lying & being in the County aforesd.
On the So. Side of Brier Creek one of said tracts of land originally granted to
Nathl. Miller containing two hundred & fifty acres, the other tract of land
containing twenty nine acres granted to Robert Stafford adjoining lands of James
Bevill & lands of Joseph Dill the whole containing two hundred &seventy nine
acres, more or less, to have & to hold said tracts of land unto him the said
John Lee his heirs & assigns, together with all & singular the rights, members &
appurtenances thereof to the same in any manner belonging to his & their only
proper use, benefit & behoof forever in fee simple & the said Joseph Humphreys &
Rachel his wife for themselves their heirs, executors Admrs. & assigns the Sd.
Bargained premises unto the aforesd. John his heirs & assigns will warrant and
forever defend the right & title thereof against themselves & against the claims
of all other persons whatsoever. In Witness whereof the said Joseph Humphreys &

Georgia, This Indenture, made this twenty eighth day of April in the year of our
Lord, one thousand eight hundred &thirty four between James Lee Administrator to
the Estate of Hezekiah Anderson late of Scriven County deceased on one part &
Charles H. McCall of the same place on the other. Witnesseth that the said James
Administrator as aforesaid under an order from the Court of Ordinary of said
County, proceeded to advertise the land belonging to said Estate for sale in
terms of the law, & on the first Tuesday in this month did offer said lands for
sale at public outcry, before the Court House door in said County, & on offering
a certain tract of swamp land the highest bid made was two hundred & thirty-five
dollars which bid was made by Charles H. McCall, therefore this said James Lee
Administrator as aforesaid does hereby bargain sell & convey unto the said
Charles H. McCall his heirs & assigns, all the right, title & claim of the said
Estate to all that tract or parcel of land situate lying & being in the (36th)
thirty-sixth district of said County containing one hundred & twenty-five acres
more or less, being the lower half of a certain tract of Two Hundred & fifty
acres surveyed for & granted to Joseph Jackson bounded on the North east by
Savannah River, South East by John Rieves land & John Thompson’s land Southwest
by John Rieves land and Northwest by the other half of the Jackson survey or
same tract together with all & singular its rights, members, hereditaments and
appurtenances & all things thereunto belonging, to have and to hold all of said
bargained premises to their own proper use, benefit & behoof forever in fee
simple. And the said James Lee Administrator as aforesaid for the aforesaid
consideration will warrant & forever defend all of said bargained premises
against the claim of said estate or the claim of any other person or persons

Scriven County This Indenture Made this twenty-seventh day of Dec. Eighteen
hundred and thirty-four between James Lee of the County & State aforesaid of the
one part & Wm. H. Wade of the same place of the other part; Witnesseth that the
said James Lee hath this day made and delivered to the said Wm. H. Wade, his
certain promissory note, subscribed with his hand, and bearing even date with
these presents whereby the said James Lee hath promised to pay the said Wm. H.
Wade or bearer seventeen hundred & forty dollars for value recd. and to be paid
the following manner (to wit) Five hundred dollars in thirty dollar notes
bearing even date with these present on the first day of Jany. 1836 one note for
two hundred & eighty dollars due the first day of Jany. 1837, one other note for
two hundred & sixty-four dollars due the first day of Jany. 1838, one other note
for two hundred and forty Eight dollars, due the first day of Jany. 1839 one
other note for two hundred & thirty-two dollars, due the first day of Jany. 1840
and one other note for two hundred & sixteen dollars due the first day of Jany.
1841 for value recvd,,- Now for & in consideration of the sum of five hundred
dollars by the said Wm. H. Wade to the said James Lee in hand paid the receipt
whereof is hereby acknowledged as well as for the better securing the payment of
the aforesaid promissory notes, the said James Lee, hath granted bargained &
sold and doth by these presents grant, bargain and sell unto the said Wm. H.
Wade his heirs & assigns A certain tract or parcel of land situate lying & being
in the county aforesaid on Ogechee river containing Eleven hundred and forty
acres having such shape & form as will appear by a resurvey made by Thos.
Pen**** on the 13th 14th & 15th day of Dec. 1828-And also a tract containing two
hundred acres of land adjoining the above & granted to Josiah Dixon on the 5th
day of Jany. 1773. also one other tract containing one hundred & fifty acres of
land adjoining the aforesaid & granted to Josiah Dixon on the 4th August
1767-Also one other tract containing two hundred & fifty acres land adjoining
the aforesaid & granted to Josiah Dixon on 4th day of August 1767 containing in
the whole Seventeen hundred & forty acres land to have and to hold said
bargained premises to the said Wm. H. Wade his heirs & assigns to his & their
own proper use benefit & behoof in fee simple forever- And the said James Lee
for himself, his heirs executors & administrators the said bargained premises
unto the said Wm. H. Wade will warrant & forever defend against the claim of
himself & his heirs & assigns & against the claim of all other persons whatever.
Provided nevertheless, that if the said James Lee, his heirs, executors &
administrators shall & do well & truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Wm.
H. Wade his heirs & assigns the aforementioned sum of Seventeen hundred & forty
dollars on the day & time mentioned & appointed for the payment thereof in the
said promissory notes mentioned with lawful interest for the same according to
the term of said notes then & from thenceforth, as well this present Indenture
and the right to the property thereby conveyed as the said promissory notes
shall cease, determine*** & be void to all intents & purposes (three words,
“Seventeen and forty”) interlined. In testimony whereof the said James Lee hath

Scriven County This Indenture Made this sixth day of
June in the year Eighteen hundred thirty seven Between James H. Mobley
Administrator on the Estate of W.W. Oliver Sen. Decd. of the one part & James
Lee of same place State and County aforesaid, Witnesseth that whereas the said
James H. Mobley by and in virtue of an order of the honorable the Court of
ordinary of said county proceeded to Sell at public outcry before the Court
House door on this day at Jacksonboro between the hours of ten & four O’clock a
certain tract of land belonging then to the Estate of said W.W. Oliver butting
and bounding at the time of Survey by Lodwick Boykin Bronsons land Dunwooddy and
Sheftals lands- granted to William Oliver on the 8th of December 1815 and
Containing 652 acres more or less and whereas the said James Lee was the highest
bidder for said lot of land and has complied with the terms of Sale now for and
in consideration of sum of four hundred and Sixty six dollars and eighteen cents
to him the said James H. Mobley in hand paid by the said James Lee at and before
the sealing and delivery of these presents the said James H. Mobley Admr,, as
aforesaid hath bargained and sold and conveyed and by these presents doth
bargain and sell to him the said James Lee all of the above named together with
all and Singular the rights members and appertanences to the same in any wise
belonging to the same unto the said James Lee his heirs and assigns forever in
fee simple. And I the said James H. Mobley Admr. As aforesaid the rights and
titles of the said premises to the said James Lee against the rights and claims
of the heirs of the said W.W. Oliver and against all and every other person or

thirty Seven Between James Lee of the first part and Simeon Burk of the Second
part all of the County of Scriven and State of Georgia Witnesseth That the said
James Lee for and in Consideration of the Sum of Two Thousand five hundred and
twenty dollars to him in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of
these presents the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Have this day
bargained Sold Conveyed aliened released and Confirmed unto the Said Simeon Burk
his heirs Executors Administrators and assigns all those tracts or parcels of
Land lying Being and Situate in the County of Scriven adjoining Ogeechy River on
the north Side Containing in all Eleven Hundred and forty acres of Land having
Such Shape and form as will appear by a resurvey made by Thomas Pengree on the
13th & 14th & 15th days of Decembr 1828 To Have and to Hold unto the Said Simeon
Burk his heirs Executors administrators and assigns the Said bargained premises
with all the appurtenances belonging thereto as also the Gin box and running
Gear in any mannr belonging to his own propr use benefit and behoof forevr in

Between James Lee of the one part and Levisey Lipsey of the other part both of
the County aforesaid Witness that the Said James Lee for in Consideration of the
Sum of Sixteen Hundred dollars in hand paid at and before the sealing and
delivery of these presents the Receipt Whereof is hereby acknowledged hath
granted bargained Sold aliened Conveyed and Confirmed and by these presents do
grant bargain and sell aline (sic) Convey and confirm unto the said Levisey
Lipsey her heirs and assigns all the Several tracts and parts of tracts
following as will appear by plats one tract of land granted to Wm. Hodges
January 24th in the year 1791 and now Sold 92 Acres Also another tract granted
