History & Achievements

Sarah Gittens was transported as a convict to Australia on board the transport Ship "Mary Ann". a ship built 1792 in France of 298 tons . The "Mary Ann" sailed from England on the 16/2/1791 and arrived at Port Jackson Harbour on the 9/7/1791 as part of the second fleetThe "Mary Ann " carried 150 Female convicts in total 9 died whilst on passage with 141 arriving her master was Captain Mark Munroe. The voyage took 143 days . During the voyage Jane Gittens was born she was born a Free Settler . Phillip Roberts was not her father.
