Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery (New)

Directions: To get to the cemetery take Highway 61 from Dallas, GA going toward Cartersville. Turn on Mt. Moriah Church Road and drive for about 3 miles. The church and cemetery are on the left.

History: There are two cemeteries at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, the Old Cemetery and the New Cemetery. The Old Cemetery is in the church yard behind the church building on the North side of Mt. Moriah Rd. (formerly known as the Wiley Jones Mill Rd). The original Church building was constructed of logs. It was torn down by the Federal Troops in May of 1864 and the logs were used to build a bridge across Pumpkinvine Creek near the Wiley Jones Mill. The New Cemetery is beside the church to the right if facing the church. It contains fourteen rows of graves, with row one starting at the front part of the cemetery.
