Dunnahoo - Winter

This Indenture made this 16th day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand, eight hundred and sixty two, between J. H. & T. J. Dunnahoo of the County aforesaid and state of Georgia, on the one part and D. H. Winter of Clark County, State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth, That the said J. H. & T. J. Dunnahoo for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty six hundred & fifty dollars to them in hand paid, at and before the sealing & delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted bargained, sold and conveyed, and doth by these presents grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said D. H. Winter, his heirs and assigns, all that tract or parcel of land, situate lying & being in the County of Oglethorpe on the east side of the Athens branch of the Georgia Rail Road, being in County & state aforesaid, containing one hundred and fifty six & three fourths acres more or less, adjoining lands of Clark Martin, Sarah Pittard,

J. C. Winter & others. Beginning at a Post Oak Corner thence north 72--East 65 to a rock corner, thence south 15 East 7.50 links to another rock corner; thence north 32 1/2 - E. 19.60 links to another red Oak corner; thence north 45, East 25.80 links to the beginning Post Oak at the Rail Head.

To have and to hold said tract or parcel of Land unto him the said D. H. Winter his heirs and assigns together with all the crop of corn and other produce, mules, hogs, cattle, wagon, cart, and farming utensils, with all and singular the rights, members & appurtenances thereof to the same in any manner belonging to him & his own proper use, benefit & behoof forever in fee simple. And the said J. H. & T. J. Dunnahoo for themselves, heirs, executors & administrators the said bargained premises, crop, live stock, farming tools, and wagon use to the said D. H. Winter, his heirs & assigns, will warrant and forever defend right & title thereof against themselves and against the claim of all other persons whatever. In witness whereof the said J. H. & T. J. Dunnahoo hath hereunto set their hand and seal the day & year first above written.
