Donahue - Lee

This indenture made this fourteenth day of March in the year one thousand eight hundred and eight between James Donahoe of the County of Oglethorpe in the State aforesaid of the one part and William Lee of the same place of the other part. Witnesseth that the said James Donahoe for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained and sold ___ _____ presently doth grant bargain, sell and convey unto the said William Lee and to his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land containing one hundred and eighty three acres being on the waters of Grove Creek in the County aforesaid. Beginning at a corner Spanish oak on Sheets line, thence N 8 E 16 chas. To corner P. Oak thence N. 80 W. C.V. chs to corner P. Oak on Smiths line, thence S _____ chs. To corner P. Oak thence N. 82_____so. Lk. To corner Pine on Smiths line thence S. _____ to corner P. Oak thence N. 5 ___38 chs to the beginning. Together with all and singular the rights ______and apperturnances thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining to have and to hold the same unto the said William Lee and his heirs and assigns forever. And the said James Donahoe the said tract of land with the appertenances unto the said William Lee his heirs and assigns against the claim right and title of him the said James Donahoe and his heirs, and against the claims right and title of all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by their presents In witness whereof the said James Donahoe hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year above written.

Georgia Oglethorpe County Before me A. G. Smith a Magistrate for this county personally came and appeared Bartlett Johns, who being duly sworn deposeth and saith that he is a subscribing witness to the within indenture of bargain and sale and that he saw James Donahoe and Nancy his wife duly sign sale and deliver this as their act and deed and that he saw the other witnesses, witness the same sworn to before me this 20th of June 1808.
