Donahoo - Ogilvie

This indenture made this sixth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty eight between James Donahoo of the County of Clark and State aforesaid of the one part and William J. Ogilvie of the County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred and forty five dollars and Sixty two and half cents to him in hand paid by the said William J. Ogilvie at or before the Sealing and delivery of the presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged. The said James Donahoo granted bargained Sold and released and Confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain Sell release and Confirm unto the Said William J. Ogilvie a certain tract or parcel of Land Containing one hundred and ninety Six Acres be the Same more or less. Situate lying and being in the County of Oglethorpe on the waters of the golden grove Creek and bounded as follows. Beginning at a Stake running due East 63 ch 40 links to the Road. Thence up Said road North 50 ch. Thence South 14 West 5 ch. 80 links to Post Oak. Thence North 80 W. 7 ch. To Post Oak. Thence South 9 West 12 ch. To Stake. Thence North 80. W. 22 ch. 25 links to white Oak. Thence due South 13 ch. To B. Gum. Thence due West 24 ch. 25 links to a Stake. Thence due South 24 ch. 30 links to beginning corner--it being a part of a tract of land granted originally to John Colley together with all and Singular the premises thereunto belonging or in anywise thereunto ascertaining---To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of Land and premises afore mentioned unto the Said William J. Ogilvie his heirs and assigns forever And the Said James Donahoo his heirs and assigns do and will warrant and defend the same against every person or persons whatever that may or Shall lay any Claim thereunto---In Witness Whereof the Said James Dunahoo hath herewith set his hand and Seal the day and year above written.
