Company G, 32nd Georgia Infantry

Company G, 32nd Georgia Infantry Regiment, Colquitt's Brigade, was formed in May 1862 in Emanuel County. Originally this regiment was designated as the 57th Georgia. The 32nd fought at Battery Wagner, Charleston, SC; Olustee, FL, and James Island, SC, before surrendering near Goldsboro, NC, April 26, 1865. Articles on their campaigns on the South Carolina Coast were published in the Southern Historical Papers.

Warren Corsey, enlisted May 7, 1862, private; surrendered at Augusta, GA, May 31, 1865. He was originally a private in Company E, 5th Regiment, Georgia Sate Troops before transferring on May 7, 1862.

Wiliam Connell, enlisted May 7, 1862, private; died in Georgia Hospital, Savannah, August 30 (?), 1862.

Daniel Davis, enlisted May 7, 1862, private; wounded at Fort Sumter, SC, July 22, 1864; died of wounds in Louisiana General Hospital near James Island, SC, that same day. He had joined Company E, 5th Regiment Georgia State Troops, October 12, 1861.

Stafford Davis, enlisted May &, 1862, private; surrendered at Greensboro, NC, April 26, 1865. He was born January 9, 1840.

Henry W. Davis, enlisted May 7, 1862, private, transferred to 1st Battalion, Georgia Sharpshooters; wounded at Fort Sumter, SC, July 22, 1864; died at General Hospital, July 28, 1864. (May not have been from Montgomery County.)
