Will be sold on the first Tuesday in October next at the Courthouse in Dublin, Laurens County, the following tract of land belonging to the estate of

William Oliver, deceased - one tract called the Scarborough tract, containing 400 acres more or less, on Buckeye creek, joining lands belonging to the estate of

Seaborn Jones, deceased and others - on tract called the Mill tract, joining Smith and others, containing 225 acres, more or less - one tract known as the

Vickers tract, joining Long, Perry and others, containing 200 acres more or less, all on the waters of Buckeye creek - one Tract containing 202-1/2 acres,

known as #185, 2nd Dist formerly Wilkinson, now Laurens County.  Matthew Smith, Exr in right of his wife Abigail Smith Exrx.

Sheriffs Sales:

Lowndes County: Will be sold before the courthouse door in the town of Franklinville, Lowndes Co on the first Tuesday in April next, within the usual hours of sale,

 the following property to wit: 490 acres of Pine Land lot #168 in the 10th Dist of originally Irwin, nor Lowndes county, levied on as the property of Samuel H Thomas,

 to satisfy his tax for the year 1834 (the amount of his tax 87-1/2 cents) levied on and returned tome by a constable. Martin Shaw, Deputy Sheriff.

Macon Weekly Telegraph, 27 Apr 1841:

A man named Garrett, a peddler who has been residing in the neighborhood of Benton, Lowndes County for the last three or four years has been detected in negro

stealing, Mr B Smith of Autauga county, had been missing some of his negroes and suspicion rested on Garrett of taking them.  he was immediately pursued by Mr Smith

 and Mr M G Hardy and overtaken near the Tennessee River in this state in Company with three of Mr Smith's negroes.  He had made arrangements to take about ten

others, but owing to some cause he could not get them.  His intention was to sell the negroes in Tennessee, and no doubt would have to ken many more but for his early

 detection.  He has been lodged in the Jail of Lowndes County, where he will have his trial.

Will be sold on the first tuesday in Sept next before the Courthouse door in the town of Troupville, Lowndes Co, within the usual hours of sale, the following

property, to wit: 

One cotton gin; levied on as the property of Joshua J Adams, to satisfy a fifa issued from Lowndes Superior Court, Henry L Wells vs Daniel Prim, and William Walea and

 Joshua J Adams.  Property pointed out by plaintiffs atty.

Also 490 acres pine land, well improved the place whereon Elias Skipper now lives, known by #4 in the 11th district of originally Irwin now Lowndes county; levied on

 as the property of Thomas O Townsend to satisfy a fifa issued from Lowndes Superior Court, John Mathis vs Thomas O Townsend. Property pointed out by defendant.

Also lot #32, in the town of Troupville, containing 1/4 of an acre, the place whereon John J Underwood now lives; levied on as the property of Hiram Hall, to satisfy a

 fifa issued from Lowndes Inferior Court. John J Underwood vs Joseph S Burnett and Hiram Hall.  Property pointed out by plantiff.

Also, one negro man by the name of Sam, about 35 years old, levied on as the property of Thomas J Hinson, to satisfy sundry fi fas issued from Lowndes Superior

Court, Hardy Hall and others vs Thomas J Hinson.  Property pointed out by plaintiffs atty.

Also 490 acres land known by #341 in the 11th Dist of originally Irwin now Lowndes County; levied on as the property of Daniel Carter to satisfy two fifas issued

from a justices court of Lowndes County, William Smith & Co vs Daniel Carter; levied on and returned to me by a constable.  Property pointed out by plaintiff.

Also 930 acres pine land, known by #361 and 325 in the 12th Dist of originally Irwin now Lowndes Co; levied on as the property of Enoch Hall, to satisfy a Fi fa

issued from Lowndes Superior Court, Daniel Sloan vs Shadrick Carlton, Joshua J Adams, Enoch Hall, John Hall.  Property pointed out by Enoch Hall.

Also one small bay pony, five or six years old; levied on as the property of James Smoke, to satisfy a fifa issued from Lowndes Superior Court, Solomon Walker

vs James Smoke.  Property pointed out by James Sowell.

Also five head of stock cattle; levied on as the property of Lewis Oglesby, to satisfy a fi fa issued from Lowndes Superior Court, Domingo C Acosta and John Villalonga

 vs Lewis Oglesby.  Property pointed out by plaintiffs attys.

all concerned and interested to be and appear at my office within the prescribed by law, to show cause, if any exist, why said letters should not be granted.  Given

under my hand and official signature, 4 October 1864, William Smith, Ordinary.

Nancy E Beaty applies for letters of guardianship of the person and property of the minor heir of William J Beaty, late of said county, deceased.  This is therefore

to cite and admonish all persons interested to file their objections on or before the first Monday in April next, otherwise letters will be granted the applicant.
