The National Archives collection Compiled Service Records
for Volunteer Soldiers who Served in the War of 1812 is found in Records
Group 94.
These records had not been microfilmed as late as 1986, except for
the territory of Mississippi, found on M678, 22 rolls. Current status unknown.
An alphabetical Index, entitled INDEX TO COMPILED SERVICE RECORDS FOR
VOLUNTEER SOLDIERS WHO SERVED IN THE WAR OF 1812 was created to access
these records. This Index was microfilmed and copies distributed to the
regional branches of the National Archives in 1985. See M602, 234 rolls.
An INDEX TO WAR OF 1812 SERVICE RECORDS FOR VOLUNTEER SOLDIERS FROM
GEORGIA was abstracted and published by Judy Swain Kratovil. Copies
may be obtained from the abstracter by writing her at P. O. Box 450062,
Atlanta, GA 30345. Inclusion of the information from the Index on the order
will expedite the procurement of the individual's record from the National
Archives.
