Georgia Land Records

• 1821 Georgia Land Lottery (4th land lottery of Georgia) -- a list of lucky drawers for Monroe County.  This lottery was for lands ceded by the Creek Nation of Indians by treaty made and concluded at the Indian Spring.

  The original boundary of Monroe County covered all of present day Monroe County, Pike County, Lamar County and parts of Spalding, Butts, Bibb and Upson Counties. The list includes all those lots with a notation added on the right columns if the lot became part of another county.

• 1827 Georgia Land Lottery (by county)
  Virginia Crilley states:  "Donna Eldridge did most of the typing for this project of getting on-line those names who drew in the 1827 lottery.   Keith Giddeon took her work and has created the databases that you'll find on this page. Miscellaneous Records

• Deed of land to the Pleasant Hill Methodist Episcopal Church South, Monroe County. Two acres of land, including the Meeting House, deeded by Jarrett Thomas to Jonathan Ball, et al, on 14 Sept 1853.
