Departed this life on Wednesday, 17th ult. at his residence in Jones county, the Rev'd ISHAM REESE, in the 60th year of his age. He had professed, and no doubt, enjoyed religion 52 years, had faithfully preached the Gospel in the Methodist order for about 40 years, through all which time his example has been as a light to influence to virtue and holiness. His last affliction, which continued for about eight months, be bore with Christian submission and fortitude, was never heard to murmur or complain, but (as hour holy religion inspires) meekly sunk into the will of his God, and his spirit returned to its long sought rest. To his disconsolate widow and children, the loss is irreparable, but his eternal gain.

Died. In Jones county, on the 25th inst. Mr. John Whitesett, in the 21st year of his age, late of Rockingham county, North Carolina.
The early exit of Mr. Whitesett, is lamented, but a few months have elapsed since he quit his native home, with the tender partner of his bosom, to await his destiny amongst us; nor was it long before the unfriendly clime brought death. He was an uptight and an unassuming man, the affectionate husband, and the fond and doting parent but ere the darling babe could lisp the fond name "father," he expired. Why speak of him? against him, nothing can be said, -be this his eulogy. A few days ago, health illumined his cheek; and strength and energy were his; Now! he lies-and hes without a pulse!-and where he lies, naught but sordid dust lies there!!"

DIED, at his residence, in Jones county, Georgia, on the 29th ultimo, Mr. BENJAMIN REYNOLDS, aged seventy-three years. - Mr. Reynolds was a native of Caroline county, Virginia. At the breaking out of the revolutionary war, he was too young to enter the service. As soon as his age would admit, he together with the patriotic citizens of that part of Virginia, so distinguished in the history of the revolution, took up arms, and entered the service of his country. At the end of the war, he removed into South Carolina into a neighborhood distinguished for their loyalty to the British crown. Mr. Reynolds from his zealous devotion to the cause of liberty, encountered the most violent persecution from his misguided associates. After the purchase of the land, on which Jones county is included, he removed thither, being one of the earliest settlers of Jones county. Mr. Reynolds has been extensively known, and from his disposition the most bland and courteous, and deportment the most urbane, will be remembered, and his loss deeply and sincerely lamented.
