The Justices of the Inferior Court have been qualified and commissioner Theophilus Christian Esq gave bond, was

qualified and installed into office. 5 May 1859

 

Mary Anne McAffee, minor orphan of John McAffee, over 14 years of age, made choice of Ephraim Hightower

as her Guardian. 6 June 1859

 

 Jethro Arline to remove the guardianship of Melinda Webb, minor and orphan of John Webb deceased from the

County of Washington to the County of Johnson.  Bond of $5,000 with William P Hicks, Jacob T Snell and James

Hicks securities. 27 June 1859

 

Jethro Arline to remove the guardianship of Wilkinson C Price, minor and orphan of Harriet Price, deceased

from Washington County to Johnson County where Jethro Arline resides.  Bond of $8,000 with William P Hicks, Jacob T Snell

and James Hicks securities. 27 June 1859.

 

William P Hicks, Guardian of Wright M Beasly, minor and orphan of Wright M Beasly deceased, to remove

from Emmanuel County to Johnson County where said guardian resides.  William P Hick to enter into bond for $1,000

with James Hicks, security. 27 June 1859.

James Hicks, executor of the will of Henry Pullen deceased, to remove executorship from Emanuel County to Johnson

County where executor now resides. (undated, but between 27 June 1859 and 5 July 1859)

 

John C Webb, guardian of Mary Anelizabeth and Almira Windford Webb, minor of John C Webb to move guardianship from

Washington County to Johnson County where guardian resides. Bond of $4,200 with Jethro Arline security. 5 July 1859.

No objection having been filed, letters of administration given to Madison H Mason on the estate of Alexander Outlaw

deceased.  Bond $800 with James Hicks and William P Hicks securities. 9 Aug 1859

 

Ordered that a warrant of appraisement be issued to Henry Walker, William B Snell, Henry Mason, Robert T Hightower

 and John Parker or any three of them to make out a correct inventory of Alexander Outlaw deceased and return before Nov 1.

$1,000; Henry Walker and William H Heath securities. 9 Aug 1859

 

Application of James W Walker for letters of Administration on estate of Isaac Jones, deceased. 9 Aug 1859.

 

Sarah M Bray, minor child of William M Bray, late of Washington County, deceased. She being over the age of 14 years,

requests Allen A Page be her guardian. (Washington County 3 May 1858)

Washington County Ordinary certifies that is a complete exemplification from the records of Washington regarding the

appointment of Allen A Page, Guardian for the person and property of Sarah M Bray, minor child of William M

Bray, late of Washington County deceased.  18 July 1859.

 

 Sarah M Bray, a minor over 14 years of age, being dissatisfied with her present guardian who was appointed by the Ordinary of

Washington County before she was 14 years of age.  Samuel Williams is appointed guardian for Sarah M Bray, bond for $403

with Ephrom and Joshua Hightower security.  6 Sept 1859.

Letters of administration be granted to James W Walker, with bond for $2,000 with Henry Walker and John New as

securities. 5 Sept 1859 (It does not state - but I believe this is the the estate of Isaac Jones)

 

Warrant of appraisement is issued to William P Hicks, Jacob T Snell, William Norris, John Pitman and T P Raines or

any 3 of them for an inventory of the estate of Isaac Jones deceased before December 1st.  5 Sept 1859

 

Application of Apsilla Holder for administration of estate of William Holder, late of Johnson County, deceased. 5 Sept 1859

 

Application of Apsilla Holder for guardianship on the estate of William Holder, late of Johnson County. Granted.  5 Sept 1859

 

Aam Wiggins application for guardianship of Jane Mixon, a minor under fourteen years of age, granted.  4 Aug 1859

 

Rally Mixon appeared and entered a plea against said guardianship of Aam Wiggins for Jane Mixon, laid over under October

term 1859 for further consideration.  5 Sept 1859

John G Hutcherson, guardian of William I and James R Hightower, minor children of James Hightower deceased, from Laurens to

Johnson County where said guardian resides.  Bond for $400 with William B Snell and Wm P Hicks securities. 3 Oct 1859.

 

Petition of James W Walker, administrator of the estate of Isaac Jones deceased, land containing 1100 acres be divided between the

heirs.  J T Snell, T P Rains, T B Pitman, William Norris and William P Hicks be appointed commissioners to lay off and divide

land into four equal parts and return their actings to this court. 3 Oct 1859 (this is shown twice on this page, I am not sure if

there were two parcels of 1100 acres, or if it was mistakenly listed twice by the court)

Application of Mary Mixon for letters of guardianship of her two minor children Jane F Mixon and Annis Mixon.  Having given

bond and security, guardianship was granted to Mary Mixon.  November 1859

 

Apsilla Holder be appointed administrix of Wm Holder, bond of $700. Security by C H Colston and Henry Walker.  November 1859

 

Apsilla Holder, administratrix of estate of William Holder deceased applies for five appraisers to appraise the personal estate

of Wm Holder, deceased.  Ordered that C H Colston, Aden Powel, Wm Sutherlan, Samuel Greenway and J D Spears by appointed.

G A C Snell (George Ann Snell per census) and M M Snell (Martha Snell per census), minor children of B L W Snell

(Barnabas L W Snell is shown in Emanuel Co 1850 census) file their petition to have Catherine Snell appointed their guardian, that

they are fourteen years of age.  Bond of $8,000 given with William B Snell and John W Snell security.  January 8, 1860.

 

Catherine Snell, natural guardian of her children N B Snell (Nancy Snell per 1850 census) and H C H Snell (Henry Snell per 1870 census),

tendered good bond and security which is accepted by the Court for the guardian of the persons and property.  8 Jan 1860.

 

In chambers N P Harman was sworn in the act as clerk during my absence. T. Christian, Ordinary.

Application of Charles R Lyons for probate of the will of Green Martin, deceased.  Will is proven by John B Wright, W H Martin and

Neil Blunt witnesses. March term 1860

 

William B Snell, guardian of  Elizabeth A Beasely and John R Beasely, minors of children of Wright M Beasely deceased, move

guardianship from Emanuel to Johnson county where said guardian resides.  Bond for $1,800 with securities of Jacob T Snell,

Wm P Hicks.  14 April 1860.
