     Miss Callie Roberts, who has been suffering with cancer about a year, succumbed to death last Sunday at 11 o'clock.  She was buried at Academy Monday.  The pall bearers were her six nephews.  The funeral was preached in Academy church, by Rev. O. A. Strickland, after which touching talks were made by Messrs. J. N. Harrison, K. S. Leckie and J. Y. Pharr, all giving testimony of the true life and Christian character of the departed.  Miss Callie was one of the sweetest Christians ever buried at old Academy burial grounds.  She talked of death frequently to her friends, and always said she was prepared to die
