Oscar Epps, Jr.
Oscar E. Epps, Jr., 62 of Route 2, Box 183, died Tuesday, February
26.
A native of Madison County, Mr. Epps was a retired wire tower
operator for Westinghouse Electric. He served in the U.S. Army nd
was a member of Crooked Creek Baptist Church. The Revs. Tom Miles
and Bill Carpenter will officiate, and burial will be in the church
cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Billy Shepherd, Milton Dalton, Clinton Ervin,
Butch Archer, Joe Fields, Junior Coker, Manual Long, and Kenny
Parr.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Epps, two sons, Johnny Epps
and Randy Epps, both of Athens, one daughter, Jennifer Epps, Athens,
two brothers, Gene Epps, Athens and T.J. Epps, Winterville, two
sisters, Thelma Norman, Athens and Dorothy Dottery, Watkinsville,
three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family is at the residence.
Bernstein Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Epps was a retired wire tower operator for Westinghouse
Electric Co. He served in the U.S. Army, and was a member of Crooked
Creek Baptist Church, VFW Post No. 2872, a member of IBEW,
Westinghouse Clerk Association, and a member of South Jackson
Volunteer Fire Department.
