Passes Away

Funeral Today at Noon

At Family Burial

Ground

Yesterday morning about five o’clock Mrs. James Oldham passed away at her home in Barberville after an illness of several weeks with fever.

The death of Mrs. Oldham is peculiarly sad in that only a few weeks since she lost her young daughter and two of her sons are now quite ill at their home.

Mrs. Oldham was a devoted member of the Methodist church and a woman of many rare traits of Christian character.  She was greatly beloved not only by her relatives but by all who know her.  A husband and several children are left to mourn her death and to them the sympathies of many friends are extended.

Mrs. Oldham was the sister of Messrs. George M, John N, and Tom M. Booth, of this city, and of Mrs. Will Reeves, Mrs. Will Dyer, Mrs. Martha Struchcumb and Mrs. Will Fulcher, of Jackson county.

The funeral services will be held today at noon at the family burial ground in Jackson county, a few miles from Tallassee.  The funeral cortege will leave the home in this city at 8 o’clock this morning.
