                               DIED SUDDENLY

MR. P. J. BLACKSTOCK DIED MONDAY AT CLERMONT, BURIED AT ACADEMY WEDNESDAY      
                                ___________

     While standing in the yard of his home at Clermont last Monday afternoon, Mr. P. J. Blackstock was seen to fall to the ground.  By the time friends reached him, he was dead.
     His body was brought back to Jackson, his former home, and on Wednesday was interred in Academy cemetery.
     The funeral was preached by Rev. F. E. Walker.
     Mr. Blackstock had lived in Clermont only since Christmas.  Prior to that time he had lived for many years in Jackson county.  He, together with his father and his brother, Mr. W. A. L. Blackstock, were the contractors who graded the Gainesville, Jefferson and Southern Railroad, now the Gainesville Midland.
     Mr. Blackstock was married twice.  His first wife was Miss Mina Echols and the second wife Miss Mattie Oliver.  Four children of the first marriage are surviving ---Mrs. J. T. Longino, Fairburn, Mrs. Walter R. Wilson, Douglas, Miss M____ Blackstock, teacher at Copper Hill, Georgia, and Mr. P. J. Blackstock, Jr., in the army of the U. S.  No children were born of the second marriage.
     He is survived by three brothers in this county, - Thomas H., W. A. L., and M. D. Blackstock.  The deceased was 57 years old.  He was a member of the baptist church.  He was quiet citizen, clever and kind-hearted. 
     His relatives and friends mourn his departure.
