The Jackson Herald August 20, 1914
IN MEMORY OF MR.
MORGAN BLACKSTOCK
This community was
saddened on the 30th of July, 1914, when the death angel visited the home of Mr.
and Mr. M. D. Blackstock, and took from them their seventeen year old son,
Morgan. Morgan was ill for only a few days when he passed away. All
that skillful hands and medical aid could do was of no avail, for He who gives
life saw fit to call this one home to Him. We know it is hard to give him
up. We all miss him and his words of encouragement. He was always
willing to help some one along the way, and talk of when we all should meet in
glory. May we all live so as to meet him there. Besides his father,
mother, two brothers and three sisters, he leaves a host of friends and
relatives to mourn his death. The remains were laid to rest Friday, the
31st of July, at Academy. Morgan joined the Baptist church at Academy last
August, and lived right until his death. But we mourn not this one without
hope, for we know where to find him, and may each of us so live that when our
summons comes we may be ready to go. He is safe within the vail, and by
faith father and mother can see their son, and he is beckoning them to come on
to glory. Morgan is not dead, but only
sleeping.

A CARD OF THANKS
We take this method of
thanking the good people of this and surrounding community for their kindness
and help in the sickness and death of our son, Morgan. It was so hard to
give him up that Mrs. Blackstock could not stand it, and she lost her mind, and
is now in Milledgeville. We can't thank the good people of the community
enough. May God bless one and all, is our prayer.
