Dies Suddenly

Mr. David W Bailey died from a heart attack at midnight Thursday at his home, 736 North Jackson street. Mr. Bailey was sixty-four years of age. He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. R. L. Lester, Stephens, Mrs. E. P. Eppes, Athens; Misses Alma and Lessie Bailey of Athens; four boys, Cicero, R C, D W., Jr and Billie Bailey of Athens, and one brother, C F Bailey of Athens, and six grand children.

Mr. Bailey was a member of the Oconee Street Methodist church. Funeral services will be held from the First Methodist church, Thursday afternoon, at 4 o’clock. Rev. George Stone will officiate, assisted by Rev. J. A. Quillian and S. E. Wasson. Interment will be in Oconee Cemetery with Masonic honors. The following will act as pallbearers: Messrs. J P Hall, Tom Kirk, J W Galloway, W. A. Mallory, Frank Raiford, J P McCall, R C Wilson and L M Leathers. Dorsey’s funeral directors will be in charge.

Mr. Bailey was a plumbing contractor and one of the best liked men in the city. He came to Athens from Jefferson when a young man. His wife has been dead several years.
