GUY W. ALLEN BURNS IN HOME

 

     Guy Wesley Allen, 52 years of age, was burned to death when fire destroyed his home 10 miles west of Buford

Monday night.

      His four year old grandson, Jackie, made frantic efforts to arouse his grandfather and when he failed, ran three

quarters of a mile to neighbors home to get help.  The two were alone in the house when the fire awakened

Jackie.

      The house was practically destroyed by the time neighbors reached the scene.  A truck and an automobile was

also destroyed.  Allen's charred body was removed from the ruins.  Investigation of the fire was made by J. W.

Dunbar, Buford Chief of Police, and County authorities.  Origin of the fire was unknown.

      In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Doris Wilson, of Buford; three sons, Ralph Allen, of

Detroit, Mich., Cpl. Raphael Allen of California; Guy W. Allen Jr. of Buford; five sisters, Mrs. Robert Harris, Mrs.

Arthur House, of Winder; Mrs. T. E. Simpson, Mrs. H. R. Wright and J. O. Elliott, of Auburn; four brothers, C. D.

Allen, L. O. Allen, E. C. Allen and A. H. Allen of Hoschton and eight grandchildren.

      Funeral services wee held last Thursday afternoon at three o'clock from the Rock Springs Methodist Church with

the Rev. Otis McNeal officiating.  Interment in the churchyard cemetery with the G. P. Tapp Funeral Home in

charge.
