DEATH CLAIMS CHAS. P. ALLEN


AUBURN CITIZEN WELL KNOWN IN WINDER, IS CALLED TO HIS REWARD 


Charles P. Allen, one of the best known citizens of the Auburn section of the county passed away in Atlanta, last Tuesday afternoon at two thirty o'clock.
Mr. Allen was in his sixty ninth year:  Death was due to a heart attack.  He had been suffering from heart trouble for a number of years.
The deceased was born in Jackson county and had spent his entire life in this immediate section of the state.  Throughout his long life he gave liberally of his time and his influence to the things that made community progress possible and was known and admired by an unusually large circle of friends.
Funeral services were held at Harmony Grove Methodist Church, of which he was a member.  The service was in charge of Rev. W. M. Jones, presiding elder of the Marietta district.  Interment was in the church cemetery.  Funeral arrangements were made by Ferguson Funeral home.  Pallbearers were L. O. Allen, C. F. Allen, A. H. Allen, G. W. Allen, L. C. House and A. S. House.
The deceased is survived by five sons, Luther Allen, Albert Allen, Charles Allen, Cecil Allen and Guy Allen, all of Barrow County and five daughters, Mrs. Maude House, Mrs. Nellie Mae Simpson, Mrs. Nina R. Wright, Mrs. Elnor U. Elliott and Mrs. Robert Harris, one brother. E. S. Allen and two sister, Mrs. Lucy Doster of Winder and Mrs. Genie Oakes of Fitzgerald also survive.
