Alexander Rites
Are Held Today
Services for Herty E. Alexander, 59, who died in an out-of-town hospital Sunday morning at 3 o’clock from Clyde McDorman’s chapel with Dr. E. Hill, pastor-emeritus of First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment followed in Mizpah Church Cemetery.
Mr. Alexander is survived by his wife, three sons, Lewis E. Alexander, Atlanta, Thomas Jarrell Alexander, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and William Abit Alexander, Clinton, S. C.; brother B. Reed Alexander, Athens; two sisters, Mrs. Wayne Coleman, Fayetteville, Ga., and Mrs. John Hood, Commerce; sister-in-law, Mrs. Tom Alexander, Athens, seven grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Alexander was a native of Jackson County, Ga and had been a resident of Athens for the past forty years. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and had been in declining health for a number of years.
