         The Jackson County Historical Society Collection is housed in the "Heritage Room" of Commerce Public Library, 1344 S. Broad St.,  Commerce, GA. The collection includes historical as well as genealogical research materials, books, transcriptions   and microfilm. You will find an index of the collection in the July 2002 (Vol 8 No 4) issue of the Newsletter.

The Commerce Library and the Jefferson Library also sell "Portraits of a Southern Place" for $25. This is a collector’s item for anyone interested in Jackson County history and early photography. Includes an index, organized by surnames, to benefit genealogy researchers. This is a reprint in paperback of our 2007 hardback publication. Checks and money orders will be accepted.
