Following is my transcription of the only surviving page of notes from a Bible said to have belonged to my ancestors and handed down to a granddaughter, Rubye Jewel Doster. All information is transcribed directly from the antique page and March 15, 2003 personal interview with Rubye.
The first line is from aged, faded and torn handwritten notes. Underneath is a translation; aided by, and with permission of, 93 year old Rubye.

* Difficult to tell if this date is 1912 or 1915, but more reasonable to believe she was married at 16 yrs old than at 13. Born 1899.
On March 15, 2003 assistance in interpreting was given by Rubye Jewel Doster Holloway, 93.
She gave full names and spellings. She is dau. of David Livingston Doster and Neta Clementine Hogan, who had the Bible when Rubye was younger. She is a sister of the last six listed on this Bible page.
I photographed this at her home about 1975-80. She said the page originally came from the Bible of her grandparents, Elitiah Tandy Doster & Elizabeth Jane Phillips, and that the Bible had been destroyed or fell apart. I wrote what she said on the back of the photograph. While the first ten entries were dated while both grandparents were still alive; Rubye did not know who wrote those first ten.
The first entry is their own marriage- ET Doster and EJ Phillips. The next seven are marriages of their children. Inexplicably, one child’s marriage is missing-- that of Lona Mae Doster to Luther Pennfield Doster on July 27, 1913.
Interestingly, however, Rubye did inform me that her grandmother Elizabeth Jane Phillips was a midwife, going out in all weather, day and night, in her buggy to deliver many babies.
