49 Christy Jordan-Frank Tue May 6 19:11:34 1997 I'm interested in hearing from anyone with any information on any and all COLLINS' from the Butts/Henry/Spalding County areas.....My earliest known COLLINS ancestor from that area is Samuel COLLINS b. abt. 1784-1788 in either Delaware (per Butts Co. 1860 census) or "D.C" (Washington?) per the 1850 Butts Co. census.....Samuel married Jane UNKNOWN probably abt. 1807, and settled in Butts Co. Their oldest child (son Irbin) b. abt. 1809 in GA is my gggrandfather. There are still descendants in the Butts/Henry/Spalding area today. I first find record of the family in 1820's Henry Co. property deeds, and in the Butts Co. 1830 census. Where were they before then?? Where in GA was Irbin born?? Were my COLLINS' from Delaware or Washington, D.C. or elsewhere?? Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks, Christy Jordan-Frank
48 Verne Jordan Are there any Jordan's living in Henry County at this time. I am tracing my great great grandfather Charles Benjamin Jordan who was in the Henry county censys 1830. Trying to get a lead on his father's name and/or find someone in the area who might be searching the same name. Thanks Verne Jordan.

I am researching BANISTER R. BRAY who sold lot #226 in Henry County to his father-in-law, William Mitchell on 01/04/1837, recorded 03/26/1839 in Deed Book J on page 80. Where did he get this land? I cannot find him listed as a Grantee in the deed index. I am trying to determine who his first wife was, and was hoping this might be a clue, ie, was this land inherited or willed to him. I have quite a bit of information on this family who migrated from Virginia to Georgia and finally settled in Gordon Co.
