My ggggrandfather, Samuel G Gardner, settled at Locust Grove,Ga from NC. I don't know where in NC, and was checking out information from Beersheba Cemetery, but found only dates. He was married to Feraby "Phoebe" Parker abt 1830 in NC. My gggrandfather, Ezekiel M.Gardner married Martha Teel and move to Fayette, Co. I am trying to find out whence in NC Samuel G and Feraby came. I would appreciate any information. I've enjoyed you site. It's well done. Corresponded recently with a former (1954) minister of the Locust Grove Baptist Church and he was unaware of a Beersheba Church and thought it was probably inactive. Sincerely, Claire Gardner Rousseau |

GRANTHAM, ATKINSON |
Les Tate |
23 Nov 2002 |
Searching for info Grantham family members found in Henry Co GA census from 1860-1880 and possibly to 1910. These appear to be the only Grantham's in Henry County GA at the time. Head of household is listed as John Grantham in 1860 (may have enlisted in Spaulding Co CSA unit in Aug 1862 and died of disease that same year in Richmond VA) and widowed Nancy Grantham in 1870-1880; Nancy's maiden name unknown. Following are Grantham children's names (with approximate birthyears) that you may find. Lucy Ann, 1836 Martha, 1839 Mary Elizabeth, 1840 (may have married after 1880 to an Atkinson) Francis (Francis M., Francis Marion), 1843 - the only male known Amanda Melvina, 1845 Nancy N., 1848 Charity R., 1851 Susan F., 1853 Sarah J., 1856 Odella, 1 Nov 1866 (likely adopted or a grandchild since her supposed father appears to have died in Civil War four years prior to her birth); marriage date to Joseph Williams is 26 Oct 1894, location unknown, but found with children in Cherokee Co AL in 1900. Would also like to know if there is a record of any Grantham's deaths or graves from 1850-1910. Odella's family bible gives deaths of: Lucy Ann Grantham on 16 Aug 1907 Mary Elizabeth (Grantham) Atkinson on 16 Jan 1905 Amanda M. (Mandy Melvina) Grantham on 4 May 19?? (page torn, date between 1907-1928). |

| HALL, JENKINS |
Rhonda Knight [email protected] |
23 Jul 2013 | I have a query about Ezekiel Jenkins (b. c. 1786 in Virginia) and Sally Hall (b. c. 1822 in South Carolina). Their first appearance in District 42, Henry County, Georgia is on the 1850 census, where in his household he is listed as Jenkins and she and 3 small children, ranging from 4 to 7 months, are listed as Hall. There is also another member of the household E. J. (or E. P.) Hilbourn, age 3. In the 1860 census, Sally and the children are listed as Jenkins, there are 3 younger children born after 1850, and E. J. Hilbourn is no longer listed. I assume that Sally Hall was a young widow who married the much older Ezekiel Jenkins. However, the names are puzzling in 1850, and I can’t find records of Sally’s marriage to either Mr. Hill or Ezekiel Jenkins in the Henry County Marriage books. Any information on Jenkins or Hill or their families would be appreciated. My 2nd great grandmother was Isabella (Hall?) Jenkins Walden, one of the children listed on the 1850 census. |
