As a run-up to the Key Ingredients exhibit in Buchanan during January 2010, (a Smithsonian Institution Museum on Main Street project), local community leaders attended the annual Governor's Awards in the Humanities event in Atlanta.

Mr. Edge autographs a copy of Volume 7: Foodways of The New Encyclopedia of Southern Culture, edited at the Center for the Study of Southern Culture at the University of Mississippi and published by the University of North Carolina Press. This very copy is part of the Special History and Genealogy Collection at the Buchanan-Haralson Public Library in the Historic Courthouse in Buchanan.
