This Indenture made and entered into this Seventeenth day of September in the year one thousand eight hundred & Seventeen, between George Ingram of the County of Hancock & State of Georgia of the one part and John J. Berry of the County and State aforesaid. Witnesseth that the said George Ingram for and in consideration of the sum of one thousand dollars to him the said George Ingram in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted, bargained, sold, aliened, conveyed & confirmed & by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, alien, convey & confirm unto the said John J. Berry ( all that certain tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being in the County of Hancock & State aforesaid on the waters of Logdam Creek. Containing one hundred and sixty acres and bounded as follows to wit. On the West by the lands belonging to the orphans of Francis Danielly and John McArthur, Northwardly by the lands of John Maddox & Edward Butler, East by Edmund Jackson & the orphans of George West and on the South the lands of James Comer & James McKissick.) To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with all and singular the premises and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining to him the said John J. Berry his heirs & assigns forever, and him the said George Ingram doth for himself and his heirs warrant and forever defend the right and title to the aforesaid tract of land and premises to him the said John J. Berry his heirs & assigns forever in fee simple free from the claim or claims of him the said George Ingram and his heirs and from the claim of all and every person whomsoever. In testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand and affixed my seal the day and year above written.
