This Indenture made this the -- day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty five between Gideon Holsey of Sparta in the county of Hancock and the State of Georgia of the one part and John J. Berry of the county of Hancock and the State of Georgia of the other part witnesseth, that the said Gideon Holsey for and in consideration of the sum of twenty one hundred and twenty five dollars to him in hand paid, at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, has granted, bargained, sold and conveyed, and does by these presents grant, bargain, sell and convey unto said John J. Berry his heirs and assigns all those tracts or parcels of land, situate, lying and being in the Village of Sparta aforesaid known and distinguished in the plan of said Village as lot number eighty nine (89) - was conveyed to said Holsey by James Burnet, by deed bearing date the first day of July 1835, and herewith delivered - containing one half acre of land more or less - the others known and distinguished in said plan as lots numbered fifty seven and fifty eight (57, 58) lying contiguous were conveyed to said Holsey by Mrs. Mary Skinner and others, heirs of Oliver Skinner decd., by deed bearing date the tenth day of August 1835 and herewith delivered - and therein described as bordered on the south by Adams Street - on the east by Rabun Street on the north by lots numbered 53 & 54, and on the west by lot number 89, each containing one half acre of land more or less, with all and singular the tenements hereditaments and appurtenances to said lots and to each of them belonging.

To Have and to Hold said tracts or parcels of land unto him the said John J. Berry his heirs and assigns. Together with all and singular the rights, members and appurtenances thereof to the same in any manner belonging to his own proper use, benefit and behoof forever, as a good, indefeasible estate in fee simple. And the said Gideon Holsey, for the consideration aforesaid for himself and his heirs, executors and administrators, the said bargained premises unto the said John J. Berry his heirs and assigns, will warrant and forever defend the right and title thereof against themselves and against the claims of all other persons whatever.
