This Indenture. Witnesseth that Joel Crawford of the County of Hancock and state aforesaid for & in consideration of one hundred and twenty one dollars, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, has this day sold and delivered to John J. Berry of the county and State aforesaid ( a tract of land lying in said County, about one mile West of Sparta, bounded N Eastwardly by the land of Knowles, North Westwardly by land lately purchased by said John J. Berry of Wilson Bird and southwardly by the main road leading from Sparta to Milledgeville, and having such other form and marks as appear by a plat of the same hereto annexed containing twenty two acres, be the same more or less.)
To Have and to Hold the same in fee simple and the said Crawford does hereby warrant the title of said land against the lawful claim of all persons whatsoever, unto said Berry and his heirs forever.
In testimony whereof said Crawford has here to subscribed his name and affixed his seal this seventh day of February 1837.
