This Indenture made the twenty first day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred eighteen between John Berry of the State of Georgia and County of Hancock of the one part and Nicholas Linear of the same State and County of the other part. Witnesseth that the said John Berry for and in consideration of the sum of eight hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said Nicholas Linear at & before the signing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained, sold, released and confirmed and by these presents doth bargain, sell, release and confirm unto the said Nicholas Linear ( all that tract or parcel of land containing one hundred and three fourth acres situate in the County of Hancock on the waters of Buffalo bounded Eastwardly by Edwards land Northeast wardly by Abercrombie and Gillilands land and on all other sides by the said Berry’s land beginning at a Hickory Corner and running N45 degrees East 9 chai 20 links to a red Oak Corner thence N29 W 8 chai 50 links thence to a black Jack Corner, thence S81 W11 chai 90 links to a stake Corner on the road, thence S4 E2 chai 50 links along the road to a stake Corner, thence S65 W14 chai 50 links to a stake Corner, thence S60 E7 chai to a stake Corner thence S35 W4 chai 50 links to a pine Corner, thence S15 W17 chai 74 links to a red oak Corner, thence S42 E15 chai to a red Oak corner, thence N65 E28 chai 40 links to a stake Corner on Edwards line, thence N30 W along said line to the beginning Hickory Corner, the same being part of a tract of land originally granted to John Dannely.)

Together with all and singular the rights members and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining to the said tract of land and premises to the only use benefit and behoof of him the said Nicholas Linear his heirs and assigns to have and to hold forever and the said John Berry doth for himself and his heirs the said tract of land and premises to the said Nicholas Linear his heirs and assigns shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents from himself his heirs and from all and every other person or persons whatsoever. In witness whereof the said John Berry hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written.
