M. S. Hyder of Lula Banks County GA has known John McIntyre 50 years. I joined the Company after John McIntyre did which was in the fall of 64 and stayed on until the latter part of March of 1865. Our Command was captured at Kingston GA in May 1865. We had been detailed by Captain Frasier from Macon GA prior to the surrender.

Hall County Affidavit of Two Freeholders
A. E. Fuller and J. T. Waters come before on oath and state John H. McIntyre owned no property in Georgia.
I, John H. McIntyre of Hall County Gainesville GA have lived all my life in Georgia except 12 years in Tennessee and 2 years in Alabama. Have been in this state since 1903 - 4 years. I enlisted in August 1864 in Athens GA and was in service until April 1865. I had been detailed by the Captain to go after deserters and was captured 7 April 1865 by Wilson's Cavalry and carried to Augusta Georgia. My command had been near Macon Georgia and I left by Captain's orders on 6 April 1865. I was imprisoned in Macon and Milledgeville Georgia. I own no property in Georgia, but own 40 acres in Louisiana. I have no income or earnings. I had applied for Pension once before, but had not lived in the state long enough to be qualified.

Questions for a Witness
Jackson County Georgia Hugh H. Brown of said state and county having been presented as witness in support of John H. McIntyre for pension Under Section 1254, Code. And after being dully sworn true answers to make the following questions, depose and answers as follows. I am Hugh H. Brown of Pendergrass, Georgia. I have known John McIntyre since August 18, 1864 and believe to the best of my knowledge he was born in Hall County. He served in Graham's Battalion and I did too. I performed regular duties for 7 months. McIntyre is a blacksmith by trade, but does not look very strong physically.

State of Georgia Hall County I, E. C. Brewer Ordinary of the county personally know Mrs John McIntyre, the applicant and that she is the lawful widow of John H. McIntyre who was on the Pension Roll of Hall County for 1930, and at the time of his death 19th day March 1931, there was due unpaid pension. John McIntyre and wife had been married September 10, 1927. Frank B. Storr a witness is a truthful and of trustworthy character and entitled to full credit as witness to the incidence of McIntyre's death.. 24th March 1931 E. C. Ordinary Brewer of Hall County. |
